70% - JURY EVALUATION

 

Your work is evaluated by the competition jury based on defined photographic criteria.

ROUND 1: THE SIGNATURE SHOT

Preliminary Jury Round

Theme: Open Theme

Submit your original photograph that best represents your photographic style, creativity, technical ability, and personal vision.

The Top 1,000 shortlisted photographers enter the second stage of the competition.

Their photographs will be showcased for public viewing and audience voting.

Participants are encouraged to share their photographs and invite friends, family, followers, photography enthusiasts, and supporters from around the world to view and vote.

ROUND 3: THE VISUAL STORY

Semi-Final Round

The Top 500 Photographers will compete in a unique storytelling and visual presentation challenge.

This round goes beyond the photograph itself.

We want to understand the story behind the image and the photographer behind the lens.

THE CHALLENGE

 

Submit a short video presentation of maximum 3 minutes where you:

• Present your photograph

• Explain what inspired the photograph

• Describe the story behind the image

• Explain your creative approach

• Share the emotions, message, or meaning behind the photograph

• Tell us what you want viewers to feel or understand

This round helps the jury evaluate not only photographic ability but also the photographer's ability to communicate a story and connect with an audience.

Photographers may:

COMPETITION RULES

To maintain a fair, inspiring, and transparent competition, all participants must follow the official rules.

1. ORIGINAL PHOTOGRAPHS

All submitted photographs must be the original work of the submitting photographer.

2. ONE SUBMISSION PER ROUND

Participants may submit one submission per round, subject to the requirements of that round.

3. PHOTOGRAPHY FORMATS

Colour and black-and-white photography are accepted.

Digital and film photography are permitted, provided the submitted image meets the competition requirements.

4. NO AI-GENERATED PHOTOGRAPHS

Fully AI-generated images or photographs primarily created using generative AI are not permitted.

5. EDITING

Standard photographic editing is permitted, but participants must not misrepresent heavily manipulated or AI-generated imagery as original photography.

6. JUDGES' DECISIONS

Judges' decisions are final. Final scores may be determined using the applicable combination of audience votes and jury scores.

7. VOTING MANIPULATION

Any attempt to manipulate, falsify, automate, purchase, or artificially increase votes may result in disqualification.

Voting activity may be monitored using secure tracking and fraud-detection systems.

8. DISPLAY & PROMOTION RIGHTS

By submitting a photograph, you grant Filter Crown a non-exclusive right to display and promote your submitted photograph with appropriate photographer credit for competition and promotional purposes.

9. COPYRIGHT OWNERSHIP

Photographers retain ownership and copyright of their submitted photographs.

10. FINALISTS & WINNERS

Winners and top finalists may be featured publicly and may be contacted for interviews, media opportunities, or collaborations.

Can I submit photographs taken years ago?

Can I submit a photograph that has won another competition?

Yes, unless exclusive rights to that photograph have been granted elsewhere.

Will I receive a certificate?

Yes.

Standard editing and post-processing are permitted, provided the final image remains fundamentally your original photograph.

Can I use AI tools to edit my photograph?

What happens if I use AI to create my photograph?
